Pesky Headcannon

Does anyone know, are there different types of sign language similar to the different languages spoken in the world today? (Quirky thing related to a honorable mention character from Summer's Boys who is trying to get his own story line.)

Yes, there are ♥ Sometimes they're more different than one might expect: American Sign Language (ASL) and Australian Sign Language (Auslan), for instance, are mutually unintelligible. The same is true of ASL and British Sign Language. French Sign Language (LSF) and Quebec Sign Language (LSQ) are also different, although closer than ASL and BSL because ASL and LSQ both have their roots in LSF.
