I have spent a lot of time developing and evolving an alien race for use in a story. Which one, I don't know yet. I gave them a name: the Amaranth, from Amarantha. I have no clue where I got the name, but today, I learned that the Amaranth is a flower, in the language of flowers, it means Eternal Love. It's not a pretty flower, to be sure, but I like the meaning. It amuses me.
