A Ranger Kid thought

On the subject of Lexi and Leigh Oliver. Who are they?
Lexi and Leigh are the children of Tommy Oliver and his wife Samantha (OFC) in the Rainbow Brotherhood. By all accounts they are a boy, Lexi, and a girl, Leigh. But are they?
I don't know why, but when I think of Lexi and Leigh I have this gut feeling that one of them is the wrong gender, the question really is, which one and why are they wrong gender? I don't think it's my fault because I opted for the fraternal set. I think it's more that one of them has a cross gendered soul, or maybe that they are of the 'other' gender, not really a boy or a girl, but something else, something that most people chose not to recognize, but could be considered a viable gender designation. In example say that Leigh is a girl physically, but she doesn't want to be a girl and she most certianly is NOT a boy. Or it could be Lexi.
I don't know yet, and I'm not to the point of writing stories from the Canyon Academy, or the Eltarean Academy, or the Rebel Sector wherein Lexi, Leigh and various other Ranger Kids (all of whom are unique and challenge some standard of identification because they were raised without the narrow walls of Earthian culture) make an appearance. (Also known as my original ranger teams that have yet to be written.)
I hope that by the time I do right the Academy stories, or the Rebellion stories that I'll know. Just like I hope that I'll know if Lance is an ace or gay, what Monica is going to do with her life, how Firefly will change the world and if Wildfire is a mute because he wants to be or if he's developed Progressive Mutism as part of a Social Anxiety Disorder. And what about Lana, Zack's daughter, or Ophilia (?) Will and Ronny's daughter...
I can't stress in my life, because my characters cause way too much of it already.
