Day Two: 3361

I spent a great deal of last month waiting for people to catch up to me so that I wouldn't feel so bad about doing as well as I did. Today, I looked at StarAndrea's stats out of curiosity...and while the discrepency is more that I expected, I had a totally childish moment of 'it's not fair' because her story has been 'rolled over'.

It does give me a goal though.

I do have to rewrite part of what I just wrote due to information I recently recieved concerning the Coast Guard.

In other news, I have been informed by Lulu that my proof is on it's way! Looks like my August 30th release date is still on schedule. (Yes, I picked August 30 as the day I announce my novel for sale. Just to let everyone know!)

Shuttle Debris Found

Today on the news, I heard about them finding a piece of the shuttle that blew up in 2003. My first memory was how, in the aftermath, I found humor in the apparent difficulty people have in pronouncing Texas cities: Nacogdoches, Bedias ect... my second memory is the one that sticks with me, however.


I'd gotten up early that Saturday, in part from necessity and in part from excitment. We were, after all, going to a campus visit day. The first college campus I'd been on that wasn't SHSU, and my first choice for higher education. As we drove up, I was reading a book. I think it was a Mercedes Lackey book, when my mom said 'What's that?'

I didn't see it, but mom and dad both saw the shuttle blow even though they didn't know what it was. We didn't find out until we arrived at LMC and they told us. They even talked about how the blast rattled the windows up there.

Other stories come out when I talk about that day, but I have not forgotten the tragedy.

I am a writer

Is it bad that I am officially crossing over my mystery series with my Supernatural/Criminal Minds series?  I mean, it's one chapter, wherein one of my novel characters shows up and mentions events from the books, but still...is that bad? I am fanfic'ing my own novel...
