I dreamed I heard an angel
Riding on the bus
Beneath the summer sunlight
Amidst a cloud of dust
I looked but saw no angel
Brought forth that golden voice
'Twas but a girl
Whose almond eyes
Her rose's thorns belied
She fought because we asked her to
Our peril now her own
And when the battles grew apace
She followed us to space
An' though our hearts belong to
Others near and far
The girl I thought an angel
My sister has become
Once I heard an angel
Riding on the bus
She traveled down from up above
Her heart to give in trust
And though her journey's ended
beyond the pearl'd gates
I'll always hear my angel's voice
In her baby's cry
The legacy she's left to me
That's more than meets the eye
Riding on the bus
Beneath the summer sunlight
Amidst a cloud of dust
I looked but saw no angel
Brought forth that golden voice
'Twas but a girl
Whose almond eyes
Her rose's thorns belied
She fought because we asked her to
Our peril now her own
And when the battles grew apace
She followed us to space
An' though our hearts belong to
Others near and far
The girl I thought an angel
My sister has become
Once I heard an angel
Riding on the bus
She traveled down from up above
Her heart to give in trust
And though her journey's ended
beyond the pearl'd gates
I'll always hear my angel's voice
In her baby's cry
The legacy she's left to me
That's more than meets the eye
